Fresher welcoming ceremony: Kayah State CM attended the ceremony

The welcome ceremony for the fresher students of the 2024-2025 academic year at the Technological University (Loikaw) and Computer University (Loikaw) was held at the Computer University (Loikaw) in the morning on January 7. The event was attended by the State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, State Government Ministers, Pro-rectors and principals from the universities and degree colleges, departmental officials, teachers and staff from the Technological and Computer Universities, as well as students.

The Chief Minister began by welcoming the new students of 2025, expressing that the ceremony marked a prosperous start to the new year. He highlighted that the state government continuously works to support the reopening and functioning of schools that nurture future generations. He encouraged the students to work hard to become skilled engineers and computer experts who will contribute to their country and state.

Later, the Chief Minister presented rice, oil, and living expenses for the first semester to the university administration. Dr. Khin Zaw Naing, the principal of the Technological University, and Dr. Thin Thin Htwe, the principal of the Computer University, received the support on behalf of the students. Additionally, the state government, through the Minister of Security and Border Affairs and the Minister of Commerce, provided donations for use at the universities, which were received by the respective school principals.

The principals, Dr. Khin Zaw Naing and Dr. Thin Thin Htwe, then delivered welcome speeches to the fresher students. Following this, the fresher students entertained the attendees with songs and performances. The four groups performing were awarded cash prizes by the Secretary of the State Government. A commemorative photo session was held, and the Chief Minister spoke warmly with students and teachers, conveying sincere greetings.
