18th Indo-Nepal joint exercise underway

The 18th edition of the Indo-Nepal Joint Exercise, Surya Kiran, is underway in Nepal, highlighting the enduring partnership between the Indian and Nepali armies.

This annual exercise aims to exchange best practices and enhance operational skills, with an emphasis on counterterrorism and operations in challenging terrains.

Participating troops are engaging in rigorous drills, including jungle survival, combat first aid, ambush tactics, and heliborne operations.

Urban warfare training, involving close-quarter combat and room-clearing techniques, is also a key focus to prepare for modern battlefield scenarios. The joint exercise that began on 31st December will conclude on 13 January.
