Hundreds of victims filed complaints with Thai police, accusing a woman of defrauding them of millions of baht in an overseas job scam.

Around 250 Thai workers presented evidence to the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) after being deceived by a woman identified as Ms. Oi, who promised agricultural work abroad.

The victims were scheduled to depart on January 4 but discovered no flight reservations had been made. They paid fees ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 baht for the promise of work visas and high-paying jobs.

Upon checking with the airline, they realized they had been scammed. Ms. Oi, who claimed to have connections at the Australian Embassy, became unreachable.

In a separate development, her uncle found hundreds of passports left behind at her house and intended to return them to the victims. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
