





A ceremony for the disbursement of 40% of social security benefits to the insured workers within the Union Territory who were affected by floods was held at the Zabuthiri Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Labor, U Myint Naung, who gave a speech.During his address, the Union Minister spoke about the impact of the Typhoon Yagi and heavy rainfall, which caused severe flooding in several regions, including the Union Territory, and affected various Regions and States.
As a result, many people faced hardship, and numerous businesses, factories, and farms were shut down or destroyed. In total, 1,081 departments registered with the social security scheme, covering 27,734 insured workers. Of these, 148 departments had 971 insured workers affected by the floods, and a total of 71.369 million kyats will be disbursed today as compensation for these workers.
The Union Minister also stated that the Social Security Board will continue to work toward providing even better services in the future.Additionally, the Union Minister transferred 71.369 million kyats for the social security benefits of the 971 insured workers affected by the floods to the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman.
The Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council expressed gratitude for the disbursement of 40% of social security benefits, amounting to 71.369 million kyats, from the Ministry of Labor for the affected workers.After that, the Union Minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and the attendees took commemorative photographs.
