







On the morning of January 6, the Kachin State Education Festival for the 2024-2025 academic year was held at the No. (1) Basic Education High School in Myitkyina. The event was attended by the State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, and wife, State Government Ministers, responsible officials, teachers from both public and private schools, students, and parents.
First, the Chief Minister received a salute of the columns of the students and gave an address. Subsequently, the Chief Minister, and wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, and the Head Officer of the Kachin State Education Department, officially opened the Education Festival by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
The festival continued with entertainment programs, during which the Chief Minister and his wife distributed traditional local food, and tea, to the entertainment groups. They also visited classrooms and viewed exhibitions of educational achievements presented by various schools, both public and private.
Later, the Chief Minister and party attended a prize presenting ceremony held in a theater where outstanding students were awarded prizes. The event included performances by students from the basic education schools, showcasing traditional ethnic dances and songs.
In addition, the Chief Minister and wife contributed 5 million kyats for the Education Festival and 2 million kyats for the entertainment groups. They personally awarded prizes to the winners of various categories, including the winners of the national sports festival, regional competition, and those who excelled in academic competitions. Certificates of honor and cash awards were presented to the recipients.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister on January 5, met with the farmers in the Naungnan Village of Myitkyina Township to discuss strategies for increasing local food production. During the meeting, the Chief Minister addressed farmers' needs and coordinated with relevant departments to provide solutions. He also distributed natural fertilizer and seed packets to seven farmers who would be planting additional crops.
The Chief Minister and party also inspected agricultural land in the Gangaw Myaing Village area, which had been affected by waterlogging, preventing additional crops from being planted. They evaluated the situation and recommended the implementation of drainage systems to help resolve the issue.
Then,, the Chief Minister and party attended the goodwill football competition of the formar Township selection football players from Myitkyina, Namti, Moe Gaung, and Hopinhonoring 77th Kachin State Day. The Chief Minister awarded cash prize to the winners of the match, further celebrating the occasion.
