India's metro rail network has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the third-largest globally with over 1,000 kilometers of operational track.

This transformation reflects a massive expansion from 248 kilometers in 2014. The nation surpassed Japan in metro rail projects in 2022 and is on track to become the second-largest metro network globally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted this achievement in a post on X, emphasizing how metro connectivity enhances urban transport and improves the ease of living
