Ceremonies to hoist and salute the State Flag to mark the 77th Independence Day were held in Nay Pyi Taw on 4th of January. The flag-hoisting platoon raised the State Flag together with the ethnic groups.

The ceremony was organized with five national objectives of the 77th Anniversary of Independence Day - To address armed conflicts and differing perspectives lawfully, ensuring non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty; To safeguard the State with unity and strength of all citizens, guided by the spirit of the Union; To conduct a free, fair, and credible general election to establish a genuine, disciplined democratic system; To promote balanced development across all sectors of the Union through the collective strength of the entire people; and To collectively advance politics, the economy, defence, national identity, and spirit with perseverance, diligence, and dedication, guided by the motto: “Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal”.

During the flag saluting ceremony, the Guard of Honour (Tatmadaw Army, Navy and Air) marched to the City Square where Chairman of 77th Anniversary of Independence Day Organizing Central Committee Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win took the salute from the dais. 

He then saluted the State Flag together with the Guard of Honour and attendees to the event. The Guard of Honour also saluted the nation’s fallen leaders and soldiers and took the four-point oath. This was followed by reading of the message sent by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the 77th Anniversary Independence Day.
