






The 77th Independence Day Commemoration Myanmar National Championships Badminton Tournament Final Matches organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Myanmar Badminton Federation and Award Presenting Ceremony, took place at the National Badminton Sports Federation Hall in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon Region in the evening on December 29, and the Chief Minister U Soe Thein, along with Region Ministers, attended and showed their support for the event.
In the final matches, in the women’s singles category, Champion Thet Htar Thuza defeated Lin Lin Htet by 2-0, while in the men's doubles category, the team of Chan Win Oo and Phyat Min Thu emerged victorious against the team of Aung Myo Htoo and Akra Phon Myat.
After the final matches, the players who secured the first, second, and third prizes in the regular, veteran, senior, and elite categories were honored with medals and cash prizes by the Region Ministers, the President of the Myanmar National Badminton Federation, and responsible officials.
Following this, the Region Chief Minister awarded medals and cash prizes to the male and female athletes who won the first, second, and third prizes in the elite individual competitions.
The tournament took place from December 26 to 29, with a total of 237 players from 52 clubs competing in 253 matches, it’s learnt.
