HPV Vaccination Campaign in Nepal

The Nepal government plans to launch a Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign on February 6th to protect adolescent girls from cervical cancer.

Under the campaign, which will run for fifteen days, 1.6 million girls aged 10 to 14, both in and out of school, will be vaccinated.  

For this the government brought third batch of HPV Vaccine of 496 thousand doses on Sunday. The HPV vaccine has been brought from China to Nepal with the support of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.

This is the third time the government has brought in the HPV vaccine.
