




Saudi Arabia has enacted sweeping reforms in recent years under Vision 2030, making strides in women’s rights. The kingdom’s workforce is experiencing a surge in female participation, which opens up new business opportunities. They were under the close watch of religious police officers, who roamed the streets to enforce the Islamic Sharia law.
The kingdom used to be the only country in the world that forbade women from driving cars. It was not until 2018 that the 86-year ban was finally lifted. The historic move was part of a series of social and economic reforms carried out by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has eased restrictions on women travelling, watching ball games, participating in politics, and voting.
