National Committee Meeting: Resettlement of displaced persons & closure of IDP Camps

The National Committee on Resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons and Closure of IDP Camps held its work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Border Affairs on 26th December.

In his opening speech, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung in his capacity as the Committee Chairman underscored the achievements of the committee during 3 years period, called on the well-wishers and donors to provide necessary assistance for the displaced persons and stressed on resettlement measures.

The Union Minister also called for the concerted efforts of the working committees and relevant governments in systematic management of the assistances received from home and abroad.

Then, discussions were made on relief aids and foodstuff provisions, social assistances, opening of vocational schools, fund establishment of the committee and further work implementations. Then, the chairman and vice chairman of the committee supplemented the discussions and concluded the meeting.
