








On 26th December, Kachin State Government held a work coordination meeting on holding the 77th Kachin State Day in a grand manner at the State Government Office.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan stressed to celebrate the 77th Kachin State Day which will fall on 10th January 2025 in a grand manner, keeping friendly atmosphere. Then, the secretary of the state government clarified the events and activities of the celebrations which are set to be held from 8th to 11th January as well as the administrative matters.
Next, the departmental officials made discussions on opening and closing events, commemorative exhibitions and awards presentation ceremony which will be included in the celebrations. Upon reports, the Chief Minister fulfilled necessities.
The meeting also focused on opening of Ayeyawady View Point Resort and Kachin State Cultural Museum’s new building and arrangements to hold New Year celebration at the resort. After the meeting, the Chief Minister inspected the completion of the new 2-storey building of Kachin State Cultural Museum in Myitkyina Township and coordinated requirements on opening of the new buliding on 77th Kachin State Day.
The 60ft long and 120ft wide new building was constructed by Special Construction Group (8) under the Ministry of Construction with over 994 million kyat butget allotment by 2023-2024 Financial Year Union Fund.
The facility includes the gallery, featuring prominent places of the Kachin State, reception counter, cafe, Digital Museum, Intangible Cultural Museum and a meeting hall which involves Mini Theatre & Function Hall. Moreover, plans are underway to exhibit famous ethnic festival scenes at the digital museum.
