Opening ceremony of legal training: MoL UAG gave an opening speech

The opening ceremony of the Civil Prosecution (Practical) Training Course and a meeting with the Union Minister for Legal Affairs, the Union Attorney General, and legal officers within the Yangon Region took place in the meeting hall of the ground floor of the Yangon Region Advocate General office on 23rd December.

During the event, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, delivered a speech in which she emphasized that legal officers under the supervision of the Ministry of Legal Affairs are responsible for providing legal advice and assisting the government in legal matters involving the state, either in legal disputes or legal procedures.

She stated that legal matters are essential for preventing errors and ensuring that there is no loss of state property, financial resources, or assets, and that legal officers must give correct advice and follow the law in their actions. She also mentioned that this training was organized with the purpose of improving legal officers’ ability to perform their duties effectively and in accordance with the law.

She encouraged all participants to strive to learn and apply the lessons taught in the training. Additionally, the Union Attorney General emphasized the need for legal officers to carry out their duties in compliance with the directives, laws, and regulations issued by the Union Attorney General, particularly in relation to legal advisory services and litigation matters.Following this, the Advocate General of Yangon Region Daw Phyu Mar Wei, presented an overview of the operational status of the Yangon Region Advocate General Office.

And the District and township legal officers also gave presentations on the operational conditions within their respective regions.The Union Minister and Union Attorney General discussed the needs and requirements based on the presentations provided.

The Civil Prosecution (Practical) Training Course, which was launched on 23rd December, will be held over a period of two months, with two days of training each week. Legal officers from the Region Advocate General Office, District Law Officers, and Deputy District Law Officers attend the training.
