Romania pro-European parties form coalition government

Several pro-European parties in Romania have reached an agreement to form a government and nominate a single candidate for the upcoming presidential election, following the surprise cancellation of the election at the last minute.

President Klaus Iohannis expressed his support for the new coalition, describing it as pro-European and pro-Romania, with the potential to continue Romania's positive trajectory, including its economic successes and recent entry into the Schengen Area. He expressed confidence that the coalition would effectively address challenges such as constructing the national budget and setting a timetable for the presidential elections.
