India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed a historic two-day visit to Kuwait, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over 40 years.

During the visit, he was awarded Kuwait’s highest honor, the “Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer”, previously given to leaders like Bill Clinton and George Bush. Modi met with Kuwait’s leadership to strengthen bilateral ties.

Both countries agreed to elevate their relationship to a Strategic Partnership and signed several MoUs on defense, cultural exchange, sports cooperation and Kuwait’s membership in the International Solar Alliance.

Modi also thanked Kuwait for its support of the Indian community and invited the Amir to visit India. Before leaving, he met with Kuwaiti influencers promoting cultural cooperation between the two countries.
