Welcoming the Sports Team: Kachin State team ranks 5th place, securing 49 medals

The sports team representing the Kachin State at the 5th National Sports Festival arrived back in Myitkyina on December 21st.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials welcomed the athletes at the airport, along with the band troupe and performance of Lisu traditional dance.

The Chief Minister expressed his recognition for participating in the festival with the spirit of sportsmanship, promoting the prestige of the state. A total of 338 athletes from Kachin State took part in the 21 types of sports out of 23 during the festival, and grabbed a total of 49 medals including 16 gold, 11 silver and 22 bronze, achieving the fifth place.
