Turkish Foreign Minister hosts German counterpart in Ankara

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock in Ankara on Friday. The German Minister paid an official visit to Turkiye after approximately 2 years. According to the information obtained from diplomatic sources, the primary agenda of the meeting was Syria.

The massacre in Gaza was also on the agenda of Fidan. During the Fidan – Baerbock meeting, the importance of maintaining high-level consultation and dialogue mechanisms between Türkiye and Germany was also pointed out. Fidan conveyed to his counterpart Turkish views and expectations in the context of Türkiye-EU relations.
