Incident in Tachileik: Security Forces rescue abducted victim

The Myanmar Police Force arrested six suspects for the abduction of a man in Tachileik Township, Shan State (East).

On December 13th, 78-year-old U Yan Htin Chan was abducted early in the morning while at his home by three men who arrived in a Royal Saloon car. Acting on a tip-off, security forces raided a house in Pasat Ward on December 18, where six suspects were killed after an exchange of gunfire.

During the raid, authorities seized various arms and ammunition, vehicle number plates, bulletproof vests, security uniforms, raincoats, warm jackets, hats, national registration cards, vehicle driving licenses, a motor vehicle, various mobile phones, and WY brand stimulant tablets. U Yan Htin Chan was also rescued during the operation. The case has been filed in accordance with the law.
