Pearl Jubilee: 30th anniversary celebration of Magway University

30th Anniversary Pearl Jubilee of Magway University was celebrated on Friday. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the celebration, and urged all to try their best to become a reliable and qualified human resources, contributing to the society for better future.

The celebration includes soon offering to the members of the Sangha, opening of Buddha Park, tree planting event, Htamane Making Competition and paper reading session. Established in June 1955 as the Magway College, it was upgraded to the university level in December 1994, and it now reaches the 30th anniversary as the university status.

The university offers masters’ degrees starting 1996 while the distance education has been initiated since 2019. In addition, the university’s library, archive, museum and research center were upgraded, nurturing the skillful experts who can contribute to the interest of the nation.
