Drugs seizure: Drugs worth over 5.7 billion kyats seized

It has been reported that drugs, including Ice (Methamphetamine), Ketamine, Ecstasy and Happy Water, with a value exceeding 5.7 billion kyats, were seized in Tachileik Township.

According to the process, a combined team included members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force, raided a house in Weinkyauk Ward of Tachileik Township in Shan State (East) at 5:00 PM on December 14. Based on information, they discovered and seized drugs including 141 kilograms of Ice (Methamphetamine), 23 kilograms of Ketamine, and 128,000 Ecstasy tablets.

At about 5:30 PM on the same day, further searches were carried out at the residence of the drug owner, Tom Laung Phu Ecstasy (also known as Ah Hwa, located in the San Saing (B) Word of Tachileik. During the search, additional drugs were seized, including 2 kilograms of Happy Water, 16,000 Happy-5 tablets, and 9 kilograms of Ecstasy powder.

In total, drugs worth over 5.7 billion kyats were confiscated, including 141 kilograms of Ice (Methamphetamine), 23 kilograms of Ketamine, 128,000 Ecstasy tablets, 2 kilograms of Happy Water, 16,000 Happy-5 tablets, and 9 kilograms of Ecstasy powder.

Action has been taken against the suspects and further investigation is being carried to identify the perpetrators, according to the Myanmar police force.
