Education Sector: 1stEngagement Forumof NAQAC

The 1stEngagementForumof National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Committee took place at Diamond Jubilee Hall of Yangon University on 12th December.

Speaking at the occasion, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe stated that the universities are responsible for the internal quality system and the Committee is responsible for the establishment of an external quality assurance system and the field of inspection.

He urged the universities to accelerate the process of planning and developing the necessary quality inspection procedures in order to receive recognition and carry out the quality inspection and evaluation cases systematically.

Next, deputy minister Dr. Zaw Myint made a clarification, stating that the universities have to walk on the quality assurance journey as they have committed in their commitment plan and to make cooperation with committee. During the two-dayevent of 1st Engagement Forum of the committee will include clarification on the implementations of the committee and discussions on the project management which is important in implementing the internal quality system of the universities during the expert talks.The forum could help enhance the cooperation of quality assurance among the universities through sharing experience among the professors, teachers and attendees from respective universities.
