Agriculture Development: Provision of inputs and inspecting the local businesses

On 11th December, Sagaing Region Government held an agricultural inputs provision ceremony at the Department of Agriculture in Sagaing with the attendance of Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw.

Officials presented reports on current work implementations to increase yield per acre of winter crops, agricultural water access, agricultural tax collection, local food sufficiency and made discussions on agriculture and livestock breeding circumstances of Sagaing District and tasks to be implemented to accelerate multi-cropping and meeting targeted yield.

Then, the Chief Minister encouraged the local residents to collaborate with the relevant officials in order to meet targeted yield of paddy, oil crops and cotton and to accelerate multi-cropping. He also instructed to conduct demonstration activities to spread agricultural knowledge among farmers.

After providing agricultural inputs for 300 local farmers, the Chief Minister and party oversaw the selling of edible oil and fuel at reasonable prices. Later, the Chief Minister and party visited Sagaing Peanut Oil mill, Myintmo Oo Cotton oil mill, ZeyaTaungtan Gems and Jewelry production in Sagaing Township, inspected the production processes and gave necessary instructions.
