Electric Power: Renovation of hydropower plant

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun together with Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo visited Upper Paung Laung Hydropower Plant on Sunday to inspect the renovation works for regeneration of electricity.

The facility was damaged by the inundation due to the heavy rain caused by the impact of Typhoon Yagi. After hearing the update reports by the officials, the Union Minister instructed for speedy completion of the renovation works, ensuring worksite safety and meeting the quality.

They then viewed the water inflow into the dam, storage condition, and durability of spillway and dam as well as the dredging of the river bed. They also inspected the progress of renovation works at the hydropower plant.

The Union Minister and party also visited Nan Cho Hydropower Plant and inspected the operation of hydropower plant and distribution of electricity through the National Grid.
