





A workshop on development of vocational education on hotels and tourism was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khaing attended the workshop and made a speech, highlighting the benefits of vocational education for employment opportunities, along with the development of country’s economy. The meeting discussed the situation of tourism industry in Myanmar, its crucial role and opportunity, the needs of establishment of the Vocation Training School on Hotels and Tourism.
As per the decision of the National Tourism Development Central Committee, efforts are being made to establish a vocational training school for tourism development, offering diploma and bachelor degree. This could also help support the Accreditation Program, being implemented by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism while being readied for ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP).
