Tour in Pyin Oo Lwin: MONREC Union Minister meets with staff

On 5th December, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi met with the officials from the Department of Forest in Pyin Oo Lwin Township.

During the meeting, the Union Minister called for the concerted efforts of the departmental officials in shaping the township as Flower Capital, greening of National Kandawgyi Gardens and systematic administration of forestlands.

Subsequently, the Union Minister visited Pyin Oo Lwin Timber Production regional office and met with the staff. There, the Union Minister instructed to fulfill the respective duties complying with the civil servant ethics and coordinated requirements.

Next, the Union Minister met with the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and made discussion on tasks to be implemented for the greening and beautification of the National Kandawgyi Gardens and arrangements for successfully holding of centennial celebration of the gardens.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited Myanmar Survey Training Center, met with the trainees and instructed to concentrate in learning and apply the lessons and knowledge gain during training in respective workplaces.

Subsequently, the Union Minister visited Environmental Conservation Department and district offices of Forest Department, met with the staff and instructed on creating better natural environmental, smog reduction, forest cover increasing, preservation of natural environmental and biodiversity, illegal logging and raising awareness among public. There, the Union Minister inspected the agroforestry plantations and gave necessary instructions.
