The Viet Nam’s Bà Chúa Xứ Festival of Sam Mountain has been added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as of Wednesday night, Local time, becoming the country’s 16th recognized intangible cultural heritage.

Held annually from the 22nd to 27th of the fourth lunar month in Châu Đốc, An Giang, the festival combines spiritual rituals and artistic performances to honor Mother Earth and the local guardian spirit.

This UNESCO recognition will help promote understanding and dialogue among Viet Nam’s ethnic communities, including the Vietnamese, Chăm, Khmer, and Hoa, while bringing international attention to Southeast Asian goddess worship.
