Fresher welcoming ceremony: Magway Region CM attended the event

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the Fresher Welcoming Ceremony for the First-Year Students of Magway Education Degree College for the 2024-2025 academic year, held at the college's Pyinnya Beikman Hall on December 4.

The ceremony began with the students’ performing the song “A Most Favorable Gardener” to inaugurate the event. Following this, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin delivered a speech, highlighting that the nation is currently working towards building a Union based on democracy and federalism.

He emphasized the importance of education for all citizens to thrive in this framework and for the country to develop into a modern and progressive nation capable of competing on the international stage.He further noted that universities and colleges play a vital role in nurturing and producing the skilled human resources necessary for the development of regions, states, and the Union as a whole. He stressed the need for qualified and competent teachers who can provide high-quality education. Teachers must continually enhance their own expertise by gaining mastery in their respective subjects, expanding their knowledge, and keeping up with evolving education systems.

After that, the Principal of Magway Education Degree College, Daw Khin Myint Hlaing, presented information related to the college's programs and activities. The newly admitted students entertained attendees with musical performances and traditional dances.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and wife presented honorary sashes to those who won the Mr. Fresher and Mis.Fresher awards. Additionally, the Chief Minister presented cash of honor to the freshers and performance groups.
