



A ceremony to hand over victory flags to athletes representing the Ministry of Construction, who will compete in the 5th National Sports Festival, was held at the assembly hall of the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw on December 2.
The event was attended by Union Minister U Myo Thant, Deputy Minister U Win Pe, permanent secretaries, directors-general, departmental officials, team managers, coaches, and the athletes. In his address, Union Minister U Myo Thant highlighted that the 5th National Sports Festival will see participation from athletes representing various regions, states, and ministries.
The Ministry of Construction will compete in six sports categories. He urged the athletes to compete with full sporting spirit, emphasizing that achieving success in the competitions not only enhances the ministry's reputation but also contributes to the development of the nation’s sports sector.
The minister also noted that the National Sports Festival aims to promote health and fitness nationwide, elevate the health and sports sectors, foster national unity, and develop athletes who bring honor to the country. He encouraged the athletes to seize this valuable opportunity with determination, perseverance, and effort.
Following this, team managers and supervisors from each sports category provided detailed briefings on the training and preparations undertaken for the competitions. Union Minister U Myo Thant then presented the victory flags to the sports teams represented the Ministry.
U Kyaw Kaung Cho, Director-General of the Bridge Department and the leaders of the sports teams, along with the athletes, accepted the flags. The Union Minister subsequently interacted with the attending athletes, team managers, and officials, providing encouragement and support.
It was reported that the Ministry of Construction will field a contingent of 130 athletes and officials to compete in six sports categories including volleyball, football, futsal, golf (amateur), sepaktakraw, and athletics, during the 5th National Sports Festival.
