Inspection of sports training: MSWRR UM inspected training sessions of Ministry’s teams

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary, and the officials, visited the Wunna Theikdi Sports Training Facility to observe and encourage the ministry’s sports teams preparing to compete in the 5th National Sports Festival on 2nd December.

The Union Minister observed the training sessions of the ministry's Sepak Takraw team, men and women volleyball teams, futsal team, and men’s football team. Team managers and coaches provided updates on the athletes' training progress, support provided to the teams, and their readiness for the upcoming competitions.

During his remarks, the Union Minister encouraged the athletes representing the ministry in the festival to compete with integrity, dedication, and full sportsmanship. He emphasized adhering to the established rules and guidelines, maintaining good health through proper nutrition and lifestyle, striving to uphold their previous achievements, and working diligently to enhance both the ministry’s and the nation’s prestige. Following the speech, the Union Minister provided cash assistance for the athletes’ nutritional needs.

For the 5th National Sports Festival, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement will participate in five sports categories: men’s football, men’s Sepak Takraw, men and women volleyball, men’s tug-of-war, and athletics. The ministry will field a total delegation of 99, including team managers, coaches, and athletes.
