Workshop for Healthcare Personnel: MoH UM delivered an opening speech at the event

Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended an opening ceremony of a workshop on improving public relations in public hospitals, organized by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Services held at the meeting room (2) of the Department of Medical Services in Nay Pyi Taw on 27th November delivered the opening speech.

In his speech, the Union Minister stated that the purpose of the workshop was to ensure smooth and effective public relations between healthcare staff and the public, in the provision of public health services. As hospitals have become more trusted by the public, the number of patients has increased, and the healthcare workers need to develop good relations with patients and their families.

This workshop aims to help staff improve these relationships. He particularly emphasized the need for training for new doctors and nurses. He encouraged participants to share their experiences and exchange ideas and advice when they return to their respective hospitals.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister addressed the importance of warm and welcoming communication with patients at public hospitals, providing guidance on what should be done and what should be avoided in patient relations. The workshop will last for two days, and training will continue in various states and regions across the country.
