Drug Seizure: Over 14.5 billion kyat worth of drugs seized

Over 332 kilograms of heroin worth more than 14.5 billion kyats and approximately 4.148 million stimulant tablets were seized in Kyaukse Township of Mandalay Region according to the Myanmar Police Force.

A combined forces comprised of Anti-Narcotics Police Force arrested Sai Wunna Tun (aka) Wunna and Soe Myint Tun together with a two crowns vehicle, CANTER vehicle and a Bike with 147.4 Kilograms of heroin and 4.148 million stimulant tablets near Taung Taw Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region on 17th November.

According to investigation, the accomplices including Nyan Win Hlaing in Sint Kaing Township Tollgate with a SURF vehicle, Zaw Tun in Han Myint Mo Junction of Kyaukse Township were captured on the same day. On 18th November, CANTER vehicle driver Kyaw Swer Lin in Kyaukse Township and Aung Khant in Chanaye Tharzan Township of Mandalay and on 19th November, Thet Wei Aung in Aungban Township of Shan State and Okkar Naing in Kyaukse Township were also arrested.

According to revelation of Zaw Tun, another 184 Kilograms of heroin in Kin Village of Kyaukse Township, Nay Phyo Htet who is a member of drug trafficking gang member together with ALPHARD and MARK II vehicles owned by Aung Khant and bought with the money from drug trafficking were confiscated. Regarding with the case, investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
