Meeting on giving guidelines: MoE UM held meeting with rectors and principals

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe met with the Rectors of Universities and Principals of Education Degree Colleges and held a meeting on giving work guidance at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 26th November.

In his opening address, the Union Minister, said that the academic year for all universities and degree colleges has successfully commenced. He emphasized the importance of improving the quality of teaching and learning throughout the academic year, from the beginning to the end.

The Minister urged teachers of respective subjects to diligently fulfill their teaching responsibilities in every classroom. He also called for systematic and equitable class arrangements, regular monitoring of class attendance and teaching processes by the responsible authorities, and maintaining proper records.He stressed that all actions related to academic matters must be carried out systematically, adhering to prescribed timelines and procedures.

He reiterated that government employees must remain politically neutral.The Minister highlighted that, starting from this academic year, the universities and degree colleges will select and nurture Lu Yay Chun or outstanding students from among first-year students.

The goal is to foster the comprehensive development of students, enhance their critical thinking and creative abilities, and nurture intellectuals and skilled professionals with sound mindsets and proper attitudes.The Minister encouraged all university and college faculty members and staff to collaborate with increased momentum, working together to achieve these objectives.

Next, the Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint discussed to carry out raising university education, curriculums to be modernized, correct teaching and learning system, contributing the country with the research works and reviewing with evaluation system. Following this, Director-General of Higher Education Department conducted supplemented discussion. After giving a speech of conclusion by the Union Minister, the meeting was concluded.
