Humanitarian Aids: Relief supplies for flood hit areas

Humanitarian aids, provided by Russia arrived at Nay Pyi Taw Airport on Sunday. These humanitarian aids were contributed by the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosatom and Aquarius.

The handover ceremony of the donated aids was held with the attendance of Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, Chairman of Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association U Aung Thaw, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Kyi, high ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Disaster Management Department and officials from Russia Embassy in Myanmar.

Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov and one of the donors explained the purpose of the donation. Deputy Minister U Soe Kyi expressed words of thanks and presented the certificate of honour. The donation includes about 35 tons of humanitarian aids, and they will be distributed to the areas affected by the floods.
