Malaysia-Viet Nam Strategic Partnership

Malaysia and Viet Nam have agreed to further cooperate across multiple sectors, including defense, marine, digital and energy. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the collaboration will also leverage the ASEAN Energy Grid to foster regional growth.

Speaking in a joint press conference with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, To Lam in Putrajaya on Thursday, Anwar described Lam’s visit as a meaningful one, as it enables both countries to enhance bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Additionally, the parties also agreed to explore the possibilities of having joint efforts in the fishing industry.
