






The ceremony for distributing business-related materials to promote the establishment of small-scale enterprises and increase the income of rural households was held at Yangon Region Government Office's Mingalar Hall in 19th November.
The event began with a speech by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, who highlighted that the government is actively supporting the development of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) across various sectors to enhance the nation's economic growth.
He also mentioned efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of rural residents, noting that in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, 135 trainees and 45 entrepreneurs from two wards and seven villages had been supported. Furthermore, in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the program expanded to 16 wards and villages in 10 townships, with 16 businesses selected to receive necessary business materials, benefitting 5 trainees per business.
Following the speech, 5 trainees per business were selected from 16 businesses, and a total of 80 individuals received various business equipment, including sewing machine, overlock sewing machine, betin sewing machine, commercial sewing machine, overlock safety stich, air compressor, battery charger, box spanners, hand grinder, impact puller, electrical tool box and accessories and other related tools.
After that, Yangon Region Chief Minister along with responsible department officials and entrepreneurs, took part in a photo session and toured the displayed equipment to review the materials being distributed.
