Opening of language training: MoHT UM gave an opening speech

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism continued its commitment to enhancing the human resources in hotel and tourism industry with the launch of new training courses.

As part of these ongoing efforts, the Ministry hosted the opening ceremony of the Chinese language HSK-II course at its headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw.  The Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing attended the opening ceremony, highlighting the Ministry’s ongoing efforts in destination management, tourism infrastructure development, service quality and human resource development.

She also emphasized the importance of providing services in visitors' native languages, noting that tourism is a service-oriented industry. She added that the Ministry is offering global foreign language courses to help staff communicate more effectively with international tourists.

The Union Minister urged all trainees to strive for excellence, reinforcing their role as dedicated civil servants working for the nation’s development. After the speech, the Union Minister received reports from the principal of Fu Jing International Language School on the course objectives, school status, language programs and future plans.

The Union Minister and other concerned officials then inspected the commencement of the Chinese language HSK-II course and provided guidance on necessary requirements. The 2-month course will be attended by Ministry personnel.

Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister met with Mr. Koki Onodera, Chairman of Yangon International Hotel, a Japanese-invested tourism company. They held a cordial discussion on various topics, including visa conditions for Japanese tourists, promotional strategies for Myanmar’s tourist destinations in Japan, plans to attract more Japanese visitors and efforts to enhance Myanmar’s image in Japan.
