





Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and other relevant officials, visited Wunna Theikdhi Stadium on Tuesday to oversee the sector-wise preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 5th National Sports Festival.
The Union Ministers and party inspected the installation of lighting system, LED displays, sound systems, and stage construction, along with the arrangement of States, Regions and Ministries’ flags, designated entry and exit points for athletes and entertainment troupes, parachute practice and the setup for the festival torch relay and lighting ceremony.
During the inspection, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn stressed the urgency of completing tasks on time, ensuring the quality and timely installation of equipment and called for strong cooperation among relevant departments to ensure the success of the National Sports Festival.
Union Minister U Min Thein Zan then coordinated the needs for successful execution of the National Sports Festival. The upcoming fifth National Sports Festival will feature a diverse array of competitions, including 23 regional and state-level sports, six ministry-level sports and four Paralympic sports, with an anticipated 6,500 athletes set to participate, its reported.
