







The Department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research held the inauguration of the Research Technology Development Training course No. 1 at Farmer’s Technical Forum on Monday. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi and other concerned officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of agricultural sector development to achieve food security and socio-economic development. Therefore, the State has set goals and objectives for the development and sustainability of the agricultural and fisheries sector. For food security, it is important for the Department to conduct livestock research by using modern technologies and to discover new technologies and new methods of breeds by making innovations. The Deputy Minister added that the Department of Livestock and Aquaculture Research is currently conducting a total of 58 research projects in 2024-2025 fiscal year.
A total of 24 trainees will join this short term 1 week course.
Later, the Deputy Minister inspected the livestock research, organic cattle farm and research on ART breeding on local poultry. He then urged the private sector to participate in the development of research and the dissemination of modern technologies.
He then toured the various research and the completion of the construction of Yezin Agricultural University’s centennial building as well as the poultry farming and discussed for the agricultural development.
