
India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Nigeria's Abuja on Sunday. He was received by Minister for Federal Capital Territory. The Minister presented Modi with the ‘Key to the City’ of Abuja. The key symbolizes the trust and honour bestowed on the Prime Minister by the people of Nigeria.
The Marathi community in Nigeria thanked Modi for awarding classical language status to Marathi. Modi arrived in Abuja, Nigeria on the first leg of his three nation visit. Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Nigerian Leadership to strengthen the ties between both countries. He will also address the Indian diaspora during his visit. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years.
