Kathina Robe Offering: Ceremony held at Maravijaya Monastery in Nay Pyi Taw

2024 Kathina robe offering ceremony was held at Maravijaya Monastery in Maravijaya Buddha Park situated in Dekhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 13th November.

Prior to the ceremony, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing donated emerald alms bowl, fruits, flowers and water to the Buddha Image at the Maravijaya Monastery. Then, the Prime Minister and congregation made a tour to Kathina robe, offertories and Padaethapin Offertory Stands prepared for the donation ceremony.

The ceremony was inaugurated with Namotasa three times recitation. Then, the congregation led by the Prime Minister preserved 5 Precepts administered by Maravijaya Monastery presiding Nayaka Sayadaw and listened to the Paritta Suttas delivered by members of Sangha.

Next, the Prime Minister and wife donated Kathina robes and offertories to PaukMyaing Sayadaw and Maravijaya Monastery Presiding Sayadaw. This was followed by donating of Kathina robes and offertories by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, SAC Secretary, Joint Secretary and Union Ministers to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha respectively.

Then, the congregation led by the Prime Minister listened to the sermons delivered by Pyinmana Pali University, Mingalarzeyone Pariyatti Sarthintaik Nayaka Sayadaw and Maravijaya Monastery Presiding Sayadaw and shared the merits gained. After ceremony, the Prime Minister and congregation offered day meals to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha led by the PaukMyaing Sayadaw, Maravijaya Monastery Presiding Sayadaw.
