





With the aims for development of libraries and nurturing good reading habits and gaining knowledge for locals and youths, the opening ceremony of new building at Min Yar Zar library took place in OhnHymarGyi village, Chauk Township of Magway Region on Tuesday.
The ceremony was opened by cutting ceremonial ribbons by Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and Economic Minister and Social Welfare Minister. Then, the Chief Minister and party provided cash awards to the performance troupes and toured around the newly opened library.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stressed that with the contributions of state government and well-wishers, the new library buildings were constructed within the region and necessary equipment for the libraries are provided for the development of libraries. He also called for collaborative efforts of all locals for maintainance, systematic operation of the library tasks and long-term development of the libraries.
Subsequently, the statistics of the library was handed over to the related officials by the Chairman of working committee on Libraries Development and Implementation. The newly opened Min Yar Zar library was constructed with 15 million kyats budget allotment by Myanmar Libraries Development Cooperation Committee. It is reported that 8 out of 21 new library buildings were opened in Magway Region including Min Yar Zar library.
