Disaster Management: Efforts for rapid response measures

Nay Pyi Taw Disaster Management Committee held a work coordination meeting on Saturday.

Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo in his capacity as the committee chairman attended the meeting and made a speech. He stressed the need for constant monitoring on the weather incidents and effective response measures including rescue, relief, provision and health treatment. He urge all to make effective preparation measures through collaborative efforts in order to mitigate the disaster with least impact on lives and properties of the public.

After the meeting, the Council Chairman met with the rescue and relief teams, and gave instructions to be ready for timely response measures with necessary manpower and related equipment. He also pointed out to conduct simulation drills, along with the educative campaigns to the public for raising awareness on disaster preparedness.

After the meeting, the Council Chairman viewed the preparation measures for disaster response by the concerned parties.
