




The athletes with disabilities are rehearsing for the performance at the upcoming 5th National Sports Festival.
On Saturday, Union Minister for Information U Maug Maung Ohn visited Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation in North Dagon Myothit in Yangon to oversee the rehearsal of the participants. Altogether 142 para-athletes from six regions and states will participate in the upcoming sports festival.
The Union Minister encouraged them to try their best in the competitions, and oversaw the rehearsing for the performance by the para-athletes and artistes from Myanmar Thabin Association.
At the meeting hall, the Union Minister heard reports on the preparation measures for the upcoming sports festival and provided cash assistance to the para-athletes.
The Union Minister later cordially greeted the athletes at the mess hall. The Paralympic Sports team is set to take part in the upcoming sports festival, competing in four sports events of track and field, volleyball, chess and swimming.
Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn later proceeded to Myanmar Motion Picture Organization and viewed the rehearsing of caneball performance by the selected caneball players and artists. It is learnt that the 5th National Sports Festival will be held in coming December with the participation of 8,000 athletes from regions and states along with the artistes from movie, theatrical and music fields.
