Agriculture Development :Union Minister inspects oil crops and paddy plantations

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung visited Htamonkan Village-tract in Meikhtila Township of Mandalay Region on 7th November and met with local farmers. He heard reports on the efforts for seasonal crop cultivation and boosting crop yield.

Upon the reports, the Union Minister urged all to strive for development of seed production with sustainability through collaboration between the entrepreneurs and farmers. They then viewed the broadcasting of fertilizer at the monsoon paddy plantation.

On arrival at the Nyaung Yan-Min Hla Lake in Thazi Township, the Union Minister instructed for repair of the damaged embankment of the lake, and irrigation for summer paddy.

At Myay Taing Kan Village in Wuntwin Township, the Union Minister met with local farmers and urged all to make cooperative efforts for extended cotton cultivation, boosting production of oil crops and agricultural development. At Kyaukse Agriculture Research Farm, the Union Minister observed research and development works and model paddy plantations.

Later in the day, the Union Minister met with local farmers in Dwe Hla Village and discussed the extended cultivation of oil crops and technical provisions.
