Energy Sector: Myanmar delegation attended 3rd WPNGC

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin attended the 3rd World Petroleum and Natural Gas Conference held in Xi An City of the People’s Republic of China and gave opening remark and took part in the panel discussion with the topic “(Let’s Build a Bridge Between Middle-East, Africa & China).”

In his discussion, the Union Minister stated that China, as the host nation, organized the current event, primarily inviting countries from the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, including Myanmar. Geographically, Myanmar is positioned to serve as a bridge country, facilitating trade connections between the host country and guest nations.

Therefore, the topic “(Let’s Build a Bridge Between Middle-East, Africa & China).” is prepared for the discussion in this conference. Myanmar aims to share the benefits gained from its advantageous geographic location with its partner countries and to enhance cooperation in the oil and natural gas sector.

Myanmar has promising oil and gas projects and existing pipeline infrastructure. The country is also working to upgrade and expand its oil refineries and fertilizer plants. Additionally, Myanmar has identified suitable locations for oil ports and LNG terminals, with feasibility confirmed by the World Bank.

Myanmar wishes to highlight these solid foundations and invite opportunities for investment in the sector.After that, Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister observed the 9th World Petroleum and Natural Gas Expo, it’s learnt.
