Tour in Tanintharyi: MOTC Union Minister inspects airports and jetties

Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya TunOo made inspections at the airports and ports within Taninthayi Region on 6th November.

First, the Union Minister and party inspected Dewei, Myeik, Bokpyin and Kawthaung airports and heard reports on operation processes of the airports, development tasks as well as the expansion of runways and hangars at the Myeik and Kawthaung airports for the cargo aircrafts.

Upon reports, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed on systematic installation of runway lights and signs as well as navigation equipment and cleanliness of the airport buildings. He also instructed to emphasize on service standardization and security measures.

Then, the Union Minister cordially met with the staff under the Ministry at Kawthaung Township General Administration Office and provided foodstuff. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party proceeded to Kawthaung Port and heard reports on operation and revenue of the Myo Ma jetty, Bayintnaungjetty and Tawin concrete jetty in Kawthaung District and KyaukHtanaung concrete jetty in Bokpyin Townshipas well as cargo shipping through Yangon-Kawthaung-Ranong and Ranong-Kawthaung-Yangon routes and coordinated requirements.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the MCL-4 cargo ship docked at Tawinjetty and instructed on illicit commodities prevention and seamless trade facilitation.
