Meeting with census working groups: MoIP UM met with census working groups

Chairman of Central Census Commission Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with Shan State Census Commission Chairman Chief Minister U Aung Aung met with the members of Ground Enumeration Supervisory Committee and Census Supervisory Committee from the State, District and townships of Shan State (East) at the City Hall of Kengtung Township on 5th November.

Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister U Myint Kyaing stated that the nationwide population and housing census was successfully conducted across the country in October, the census collection is still ongoing in some areas, where transportation and security conditions are challenging.

In Shan State (East), the census was completed successfully in designated areas, while efforts continue in special regions, and he expressed appreciation to those who participated and to the local people for their cooperation.He noted that this entire process is part of the necessary tasks to be completed within set timelines to ensure the successful conduct of a multi-party democratic general election. He encouraged everyone to take up this responsibility with a sense of national duty and work collaboratively to achieve it.

Following this, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung provided updates on field data collection in Shan State, the verification and entry of information into the e-ID server, the completion of the "Pankhin Project," and the ongoing collection in remaining areas for the population and housing census. He also discussed the progress on creating voter lists, confirming preliminary drafts, and the status of upcoming tasks.

After concluding the meeting, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister warmly greeted the attendees.
