Tour in Yangon: MOIP Union Minister inspects work undertakings

On Monday, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by relevant officials, inspected Zinyaw vessels (1), (2) and (3), docked at the Kyan MarYay Jetty in Yangon Region.

The Union Minister first reviewed the condition of the engine rooms and ship’s quarters and assessed repair and maintenance tasks. In a meeting with vessel personnel and immigration staff, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of employee safety in fulfilling their duties.

He urged all to improve vessel performance, master seafaring skills, stay updated on the latest weather conditions and maintain security awareness while cooperating with relevant departments. The Union Minister later proceeded to Yangon International Airport where he met with immigration staff in the CIP Lounge conference room. During the meeting, he heard reports on arrivals and departures, foreign airline operations, immigration counter status, e-Visa and visa-on-arrival screening and the use of the Integrated Border Management Control System (iBMC) for records management as well as current operations and work requirements.

After reviewing the reports, the Union Minister stressed the need for effective public services in compliance with the law. He instructed immigration staff to prevent blacklisted individuals from leaving the country while ensuring that non-blacklisted travelers are not wrongly detained and have security awareness.

The Union Minister then fulfilled the necessary requirements. The Union Minister then inspected operations at various airport counters, including immigration check-in and the iBMC server room. There, he heard reports on ongoing activities and coordinated necessary requirement.
