Dragon Boat Championships: Myanmar qualified for 2025 World Sports Championships

Myanmar secured one gold and one silver medals at the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships, showcasing impressive performances in both the 200m and 500m finals.

On November 2, in the Mixed 200m Final, Indonesia clinched the gold, followed by Myanmar with silver, while Chinese Taipei earned the bronze. The following day, on November 3, the Myanmar team excelled again in the Mixed 500m Final, earning the gold medal while Hungary took silver and Indonesia claimed bronze.

Teams from Myanmar, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Spain, the Philippines, Hungary, the Republic of Korea and Ukraine competed fiercely in the Mixed 2000m, 200m and 500m events. The competition was organized in four groups, progressing through the quarter-finals, semi-finals and then to the finals.

The Myanmar rowing team secured a total of six gold medals and three silver medals at the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Cup and the World Dragon Boat Championships in Yichang, China and in Puerto Princesa, the Philippines. With this impressive performance, the Myanmar rowers have qualified to compete at the upcoming 2025 World Sports Championships, set to be held in Chengdu on August 9th and 10th.
