Under the supervision of Taninthayi Region Government, Information and Public Relations Department and Basic Education Department jointly organized the Development of School Library and Promotion of Reading Habit Award Presenting Ceremony at No.6 Basic Education High School in Dewei on 31st October.
Students from No.6 Basic Education High School and Shwe Dewei Private schools actively participated in Development of school library and promotion of reading habit competitions. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister U Myat Ko highlighted the efforts of the government in providing good reading environment for the youths and encouraged individual to nurture their reading habit in order to build the better future of the nation with well-educated citizens.
Youths Discussion, Knowledge Sharing Session as well as Youth Comprehensive Development Festivals are also being carried out to turn out qualified youths who possess five kinds of strength. The Chief Minister also called for the concerted efforts of the relevant individual and organizations in promotion reading habit of the students and youths.
Next, the Chief Minister presented honorary gifts to 4 students and officials who participated in youth discussion and presnted awards to the winners of debate competition. It was followed by the presentation of awards to the winners of impromptu, essay, poem recitation and story telling competitions.
During the ceremony, a total of 400,000 kyats cash assistance was provided to the school library. The ceremony was concluded with the closing song performance of the students.
